The Nielsen Company is seeking an innovative, experienced, tech-savvy, highly detail-oriented individual for a key product leadership role on its Telecom Practice's flagship product, Flowshare. Flowshare is an electronic market-share measurement product that spans all components of the convergence space - wireless, wireline, video and broadband.

As the leader of a small team of product leaders, the successful candidate will shape and execute the vision for the product (brand) and platform globally. In addition to its application as a product suite in its own right, the Flowshare platform is used as the basis for a variety of other Nielsen products, which this person will also be responsible for. This person will also be responsible for staying current with the industry, working with clients to understand their needs and ensure the product stays innovative.

This position owns the full P&L for the product suite, including pricing, marketing, innovation and must influence decisions on cross-team staffing, data collection and project selection. This is a hands-on role requiring great attention to detail and depth of knowledge.

This is a senior-level position on the Telecom Product Leadership team and therefore will also have cross-product responsibility to act as an effective leader, mentor and role-model for the organization. This is a high-profile role with exposure to the highest levels of Nielsen.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Set and drive the overall vision for the platform and product (key value proposition, competitive position, etc)

* Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of the marketplace - trends, techniques, competition

* Full ownership of the business planning cycle including P&L, margin analysis, quality and cost leadership strategies

* Development and maintenance of all product documentation, including roadmap, sales presentations, collateral, requirements documents, etc

* Build and maintain all product pricing and bundling options, working in close collaboration with Client Service

* Identify, create and maintain partnerships with other Nielsen entities as well as other external businesses

* Build and manage a strong team focused on results and leadership - work to ensure proper succession planning is in place


Requirements

REQUIREMENTS:

* 10+ years of business experience

* P&L ownership experience in excess of $15M

* Product Management or Marketing experience

* Management Consulting experience

* Technology or Telecom industry experience

* Both small-company and large-company experience

* Strong track record of innovation in the technology or research space

* Some client-facing experience

* A passion for analyzing products, clients and markets

* Excellent written and oral communication skills

* Minimum bachelors degree, MBA preferred
